Unified Praise in Akron

Akron_PraiseWhat better way to start off Newman, than with a Unified Praise and Worship? Unified Praise and Worship was Cardinal Newman’s idea of unifying all Christians no matter the denomination and bringing them all together to worship. We had 40+ people on our first Wednesday, mostly new people who were either incoming freshman or transfer students. After introductions, Eric and Morgan (our President and VP), led us in worship. Following worship we then closed with dinner and socializing.

Newman is a place where you can come and grow as a family. I started coming to Newman when I was still a high school senior and a non-Catholic. Now, because of Newman I am Catholic. When I started leading Unified Praise I saw a lot of potential for every student to really get to know God and to let go of the fears behind praising the God we call our Father. We are so richly blessed as a community to have each other.
